[2008.10.26] - Match Report - Outcome of last mixed match

“This weekend the Oxford Mixed team, Kerstin, Maite, Sam, Jon, Neil, Cornelius and myself, were in action for the first time this season. Rune was meant to play but sprained his foot last week.

Basingstoke Mixed was beaten 25 -16, 25 - 18 thanks to Jon’s serves, and hard work from the team.

The second match was against Basingstoke Mixed Up, which we lost 17 - 25, 25 - 19, 11 - 15. This means we took home 4 points and positions us in the middle of the Berkshire league.

Overall the team played well and Jon did a good job as team captain. However this was overshadowed by Sam’s nomination of ‘Player of the Match’ against Basingstoke Mixed. Should anyone want proof, the score sheet is probably already framed and hanging in Sam’s home. Well done Sam!

The next match is at 2.30 pm at Loddon Valley on 30 November.
