Vollox Socials

Hello Volleyballers,

It's time to plan 2011 socials... ;) Well, lets plan one or two and see where we go with this.
I'm currently organising:

1) Greyhound (Dog) Racing Evening in Oxford for either Saturday 5th or 19th February. They currently have an offer that includes entrence fee and one fast food meal for 1pound (offer ends 19th February).

2) Alton Towers Theme Park day in March or April.

3) Paintball event

Let me know if you have any more ideas for socials this year!

AND! Don't forget our surfing/ beach volleyball trip to Croyde Bay (Devon) 13th till 16th May 2011.

See you on court.

Two wins for Ladies 2!

Oxford Ladies 2 travelled to Newbury last weekend for their fourth fixture of the season. The first game was against Maidenhead, second in the league at the time of the match. There was some scrappy play, but Oxford kept their cool and won in two straight sets, 25:18, 25:18. Most Valued Player was Nathalie. Next up was Newbury, who were fielding a strong side containing two NVL-registered players. Oxford really came to life with some great play, fantastic teamwork and lots of noise, again winning in two straight sets (25:15, 25:22). MVP was Maite. Ladies 2 are now second in the league, behind Ladies 1. Well done ladies, and cheers to Neil for fab coaching on the day!

Good luck teams!

After 2 weeks of "hard work" for the mixed team, it is now up to the gender specific teams to fly our flag in the BVA league!

At 4pm on Sunday, all teams will be on court, only in different location: Reading for mens 1 and ladies 1, Newbury for ladies 2 and Farnborough for mens 2.

With the top of the league within the grasp of each of the teams, let's wish them all good luck!!!

Hopefully, the twitterers and bloggers among the teams will keep us posted with the results in real time so watch this space!
