Oxford
NVL Ladies won a close fought match against Dartford Ladies on Sunday. After winning the first cup match against
Ashfield Vipers a fortnight ago, this time round – for the first NVL Div 3 match – Oxford
were without coach and regular captain, but came through 3-2 at the end of a
near three-hour match. Captained and coached on the day by Fede and ably
assisted by more experienced members like Chrissie, Sonia, Nela and Andrea the
team stayed together well over the length of this very long match. Dartford and
Oxford traded sets through out, with Oxford finding clinching the final set
15:7. So well done girls!!!
Oxford’s
second match, against Telford Ladies was going well, but unfortunately ran out
of time, meaning no conclusion was reached. To be continued at a later date –
the current score is 1-1, with Oxford leading the third set by a couple of
points.
Telford
beat Dartford 3-2 in the middle game of the fixture. This was again a long
match, which is why we ran out of time at the end.
